With the forthcoming album Crossing Currents on respected German label ACT Music, Danish trio Little North takes a new step in its musical journey. Since 2020, the group has released six albums, establishing a distinctive voice on the European jazz scene.

Little North works as a collective, with all members composing and drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres and traditions. Shared and individual curiosity drives the music forward, each album exploring new musical landscapes.

Crossing Currents was created in New York with vibraphonist Joel Ross and saxophonist Hannes Bennich. Little North’s Nordic sound and poetic precision meet the energy of the international jazz scene in an open, contemporary expression, bringing together musical currents from Copenhagen, New York and Malmö.

Live, the music gains another dimension through collaboration with Dutch guitarist Reinier Baas, one of Europe’s most original guitarists, known for his rhythmic drive and melodic inventiveness. Together with Bennich, they shape and reshape the material in the moment, taking new paths from one concert to the next.

For the audience, this means an experience that cannot be heard on record. The music is created in the encounter between the musicians, the room and the audience, building bridges between Nordic and international jazz.
